How to Create Custom Audiences for Facebook Ads

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1: Double-check that the Your Best Year Yet Giveaway Team has installed your pixel on the giveaway pages. You will receive a confirmation from us once we have installed your pixel.

STEP 2: BEFORE SETTING UP YOUR CUSTOM AUDIENCES IN FACEBOOK ADS MANAGER, you should verify that you are in the same ads account from which you sent us the pixel. (In other words, don’t try to create custom audiences using a pixel other than the one you sent us. It won’t work!)

STEP 3: Set up your custom audiences inside of your Facebook Ads Manager following the how-to video above. This is a small, 10-minute job, tops. Do it now before you forget.

The 3 audiences you are setting up are for the following URLs (you can copy and paste these while following along with the video):

Audience of People Who Visit Our Gifts Page – Warmest But Smallest Audience:

Audience of All People Who Visit Our Opt-In Page – Biggest Audience But a Mixture of People Who Did & Did Not Opt-In:
bestyearyetgiveaway.com

Audience of People Who Opted In – Medium-Sized Audience, All of Whom Opted In But a Mixture of People Who Engaged With the Gifts Page:

Please note: Be sure you set up these audiences with the same pixel you sent us. 🙂

STEP 4: Sometime AFTER the giveaway, run your ads. When you are setting up your ad set(s), you will see an option to choose your audience and you will see the above custom audiences in the drop-down menu.

SUPER-DUPER IMPORTANT NOTES (READ ME!):

– YOU MUST HAVE YOUR CUSTOM AUDIENCES SET UP BY NOVEMBER 24th TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ALL GIVEAWAY TRAFFIC. IF YOU DO NOT SET UP YOUR CUSTOM AUDIENCES IN A TIMELY FASHION, YOU RISK YOUR CUSTOM AUDIENCES NOT REACHING THEIR FULL POTENTIAL. (We are not responsible for you setting up your audiences.)

– Verify you are setting up your audiences with the SAME PIXEL you sent us, otherwise this won’t work for you.

– Custom audiences can be set for a maximum of 180 days. That means that approximately 6 months after the giveaway, the audience will expire and no longer be available for your advertising.

– Due to privacy concerns, Facebook is no longer specific about the exact numbers in your custom audiences. Do not be alarmed; your custom audiences will be populating with new people every day throughout the giveaway.
